The Taylor County Ambulance

Thank you Diana Fisher!

We had a "SUPER" day during the summer reading program. Thank you Diana Fisher for showing us what an ambulance looks like inside, what to say when you call 911, and the basic first aid.

The Bedford Firefighter

Today we had the Bedford Fire Chief, David Spencer and firefighter, Dan Wyckoff that came to the library

Superheroes are fast! How fast can a fireman put on all his or her safety gears on? In 2 minutes!! We had the kids take their shoes off and time them how fast they can put their shoes back on. 1 minute and 30 secs. for all the kids to have their shoes back on.

Thank you so much to the Bedford Fire Chief, David Spencer and firefighter, Dan Wyckoff for coming to the library.

The kids now realize how heavy the fireman's coat is, what to do if there is a fire, special tools and clothing that firefighters use, and that SUPERHERO FIREFIGHTERS work together to get it done faster and safer.

Deputy Dan Wyckoff

Thank you Deputy Dan Wyckoff for coming and sharing with us what a deputy does, what they wear, and what the inside of the police car looks like. When the kids tried on the bulletproof vest, they had to try to sit on a chair with the bulletproof vest on.  It was challenging for some because of how heavy the vest weighed.  It is not as easy as it looks.

Another "THANK YOU" goes to Dr. Cummings for singing while we played "superhero - hot potatoes" and also to Mrs. Hall for helping me out today. What a SUPER DAY!
